Guardianship
At SCHMART Education, we provide comprehensive guardianship packages for the entire duration of your child’s stay.
All guardians provided by us are AEGIS-accredited, ensuring that your child is always in safe and capable hands.
Why does my child need a guardian?
Many schools require that students have a guardian that lives in the UK if their parents reside outside of the UK.
During term time, the school is responsible for your child’s welfare, however, outside of these times there is the need for anther party to take over these responsibilities.
This may be during school holidays (including half terms), when a student is seriously ill, or in the event of suspension or exclusion of the student.
What is the role of a guardian?
Guardians take over the parental responsibilities of the student when they are not in school.
They ensure and promote the physical and emotional well-being and welfare of the student.
Guardians will be over 25 years of age; and not in full-time education. They will be a permanent resident of the UK and live within three hours of the student, ensuring that they are close to at all times to the student. They will also be able to communicate comfortably in English.
SCHMART Education will be available for you to contact 24 hours, 7 days a week for information or support. SCHMART will provide a dedicated guardian for the duration of your child’s stay in the UK.
